Welcome back! First of all, I just want to say thank you for sticking through this course. Your hard work and dedication will pay off as you begin the school year with your little one.

We’re going to be talking about organization in this video. I think it is super helpful to have some sort of organization in homeschool. I’ve found that when I get off track and things start getting chaotic, it’s usually because of organization problems! I know there are type A people listening to this and also people who just plain don’t like to clean and organize. If you’re type A and are ultra organized already, I’m sure you have a handle on this already!

For the rest of us, I’m hoping this module inspires you, and gives you a desire to start getting things organized! Before we go into later lessons about “how” to organize, let’s talk about WHY we should be organized.

*sanity – it seriously helps you out mentally! Having things organized is going to just help things run smoothly. Honestly, being organize will help you clear your mind and reduce stress so you can focus on more important things. 

*child’s behavior – have you ever noticed kids start to get a bit rambunctious in chaotic environments? Having a space that’s organized with help them feel more calm and they will know where things are

*saves time & money – this is more specifically for organizing your materials. If you know where everything is, you won’t have to spend time looking for misplaced items or even buying replacement materials because you can’t find it.

*sets an example – this just gives our kids a good example of organization and sets the tone for homeschooling

Tips for organization

*organization is not an event, it’s a habit. You just have to get started and then start a habit of maintaining it.

*when things get off track, remember your “why” for staying organized

*involve your child with keeping the school stuff organized

*don’t compare yourself to others

*just start small I think it’s just important to have a vision for how you want your homeschool space, materials, and lesson plans to be organized. 

We all are different, so we’ll do things slightly different. There’s no right or wrong way, just do what works for you! I’ll be sharing practical tips and ideas in the next video, but I don’t want you to think this is the only way to do it. I’m hoping this will just inspire you and give you the motivation you need to start organizing!
